The industry leading HYPROLYSER® iSEC® range of electrochlorination systems developed by Gaffey, provide an on-demand supply of sodium hypochlorite solution, generated through the electrolysis of a diluted brine solution.

The iSEC® system automatically draws a concentrated brine solution from a salt saturator which is then diluted to the correct strength with softened water for efficient electrolysis. The diluted brine is automatically fed to the electrolytic cell where electric current is passed through the solution, producing sodium hypochlorite. The automatic process cycle is repeated until the product storage tank is filled.

In conventional chlorination processes, commercial strength sodium hypochlorite can degrade quickly in storage, often losing up to 20% of its chlorine content in a relatively short period of time. In contrast, the sodium hypochlorite solution produced by the HYPROLYSER® system does not require caustic buffer chemicals or additives to retain its chlorine content. It can retain its original chlorine concentration for several months. The combination of storing low strength hypochlorite solution, the avoidance of chemical deliveries, handling and operator involvement significantly reduce the likelihood of any accidental spillage.
