iBC® TECHNOLOGY

The integrated Brine Causticisation, or iBC® is an innovative process technology that removes common impurities from waste brine streams enabling further processing. The purified brine stream is subsequently treated in an integrated process, resulting in the production of various salt products and industrial-grade sodium hydroxide.

    APPLICATIONS

    The ability of the iBC® technology to convert problematic carbonates and bicarbonates in brines, and concurrently recover products, is highly desirable in a range of applications including

    • Energy – dewatering coproduced waters (recovering minerals)
    • Mining – natural brine & solution mining (recovering minerals)
    • Mining – downstream refinery wastes (recovering minerals & reagents)
    • Wastewater – dewatering (to recover dissolved solids, TDS, as product/s)
